North Topsail Beach Family Photos
We LOVE our vacation families here at Topsail!
This sweet family visits us annually from Ohio, and usually stays 2 weeks (that is vacation GOALS right there). This year, they came to North Topsail Beach and wanted family beach portraits done while they were here.
Extended families are a lot of fun, and it is nice for little ones to be able to take breaks while other family members get their photos taken….thats when they get to play a little too!
Usually with larger extended family groups, we get the big formal portrait of everyone together, then we move on to each smaller family unit and back to the large group. We start out a little further from the ocean and then towards the end of the session time move closer to the water. We’re happy to get wet if you are! Since kids will almost always be kids, we wait until the end to splash, but we always have fun!
This light on this particular evening was simply breathtaking. It is always beautiful by the waves, but some days are just extraordinary, and I feel so blessed to be able to capture them, especially while taking such precious family memories at the same time.
There were 3 generations together, and it just delightful to witness them interacting together. Families should always laugh together, and this family really knows how to have fun.
The bond between generations is so special. I asked big brother what his favorite thing to do with his grandfather was, and without hesitation he said, “drive the tractor with him,” and his grandfather just beamed with pride. It was such a sweet moment!!
The oldest cousin, who was vacationing with her significant other, told me how they had met ballroom dancing, and of course…we documented how they met in portraits!
If you haven’t gotten family beach portraits before, it really is worth the investment—how often is everyone together like that? For our big extended family, not that often anymore!
Looking back years from now, these are moments you will treasure, and you will be so glad you all took one evening during your vacation and made a few memories together with a professional photographer present.
