Baby Milestone Session in Surf City

We love Beach Babies! We were thrilled to offer baby milestone packages on the beach this year, and each portrait session came with our wooden heritage wall art.

This little guy also got to use our new castaway raft, made in a petite size just for our littlest clients. He was 10 months old, and because of Covid, his family was eager to get a milestone portrait session for him before his 1st birthday.

While it happened to be an unusually windy day, this little guy was an absolute dream!

He handled the wind like a champ, and absolutely LOVED getting wet in the surf. According to his mom, if he ever gets fussy, which is rare, she puts him in water (a bath, pool, or the ocean!), and his is instantly happy again. I’m pretty sure we will see him surfing out here someday when he is grown!

In addition to using our little raft prop, we also posed him by the sweetest little fence lining the path to the beach, so he looks like he was in the sand dunes yet we were all safely removed from them. We aim hard to “leave no trace” as photographers while we are out on the beach, and we do not photograph on our fragile dunes.

He really wanted to get in the ocean too, so we happily obliged — we all got wet too, but it was absolutely worth seeing how happy it made him!

He gleefully crawled right into the ocean over and over! His mom and dad scooped him up every time, and made sure he was always safe in the surf. It was the sweetest thing; he has the cutest little frog hop crawl — we were all in stitches watching him bounce right to the water.
