Vacation Beach Photos in North Topsail Beach
We had the sweetest family reach out to us last month. Mom wanted family beach photos while they were on vacation at St. Regis in North Topsail Beach. They had vacationed here for the last 2 years and she wanted portraits made at the northernmost point of the island. She contacted a few days before they left and was really happy we could accommodate her that coming Monday.
The great thing about vacation beach photography is that usually, you have WEEKDAYS available, which makes it a lot easier to work with during a busy summer when weekends are often booked up far in advance. She was so excited, and we had so much fun!
They live in Virginia, and have three boys, the youngest of which are twins. Someone give this Boy Mom a trophy….or maybe a drink! All three kids were super sweet though!
As with all our portrait sessions, we take formal poses and more casual “unposed” images that we direct. We also try not to torture kids that don’t love being photographed (or dads!) too much and let the moment be fun.
You’re at the beach after all!
So we get the posed shots that look good on the piano or gifted to grandma, but we also let children be children. Maybe we play ring around the rosey for a moment or maybe we let the kids chase each other around Mom and Dad. Then we go for another “posed” moment, and so on. The aim really is to have fun and treasure the moment you were out on the beach enjoying yourselves (while also looking happy and beautiful!).
For the portrait below, the boys were told to give Mommy and big hug and show her how much you love her! These 3 boys love their Mama so BIG, it was so sweet to see!
Gahhhh, my heart!
We always capture each child individually, because they grow sooo fast and we know how important it is to be able relive when they were smaller.
This sweet 4 year really just wanted to play in the sand…and honestly, that’s fine!
And finally—if you want to splash in the ocean and get wet, we’re all for it!!
Are you considering hiring a photographer for your next family vacation? It is definitely worth it if you do!!
